Despite having a low GPA and GRE score, thanks to Jesse’s guidance, I received offers from CBS, Oxford, UCLA Anderson, and Cornell! Ultimately, I chose Columbia Business School for my MBA.
When I started to prepare for my MBA, I had just transitioned to a new job. Getting accustomed to my new position was challenging enough, but I also had to manage the MBA application process simultaneously. I initially worked with another counselor but was not satisfied with their service. Fortunately, I found Jesse through the Japanese MBA community.
One of the major hurdles I faced was identifying my core values and strengths to highlight in my application, especially since I didn’t have any specialization and had experienced frequent job rotations, which weakened my career consistency. It was particularly difficult for me to find strong examples of my leadership experience and capabilities. After switching to Jesse, the situation dramatically changed. Discussions with him helped me figure out the ideas and passions behind my career decisions so far, which became a core element of my application.
Preparing for the CBS application was beneficial because it has traditional questions and essays. Also, I felt a sense of direction and clarity. He meticulously laid out the schedule and guided me step-by-step through the process, which significantly reduced my stress. Knowing exactly what needed to be done and when made a tremendous difference to my mental health.
Jesse paid close attention to the details of each school’s application, pointing out missing elements and suggesting additional points of appeal. For example, I could not get a high score on the GRE, but I had to show my academic strength. Jesse gave me many ideas for that from various perspectives, such as using my Japanese public servant exam results, which only 7% pass. Though this would be unfamiliar to many outside of Japan, Jesse knew it from his experience and suggested that I add it. I never would have come up with the idea of including it in the application as an educational strength on my own, but it was a strong point of my academic profile.
Jesse’s support went beyond just the logistics and documents of the application. He was a constant source of motivation and energy. Adjusting to my new job often left me feeling drained, but Jesse’s frequent, powerful, and cheerful messages kept me positive and driven. Energy and motivation are the keys to success in MBA applications. Without them, you cannot succeed. Jesse provided these most essential supports to me, along with great documentation support.
If you are serious about achieving your MBA dreams, I strongly recommend Jesse’s services. Choosing the right supporters, counselor, and recommenders, is crucial. As a counselor, Jesse is someone I wholeheartedly endorse.
